According to Article 29 of the Constitution, The National Assembly must hold a meeting 90 days before the expiration of the Presidency term. Provisional meetings should be called according to Article 30.

After the Constitution was established in the state, the first National Assembly held 8 meetings and 2 provisional meetings. The second National Assembly held 5 meetings. The third National Assembly held 5 meetings during their term from the 20th of May 1996 to the 19th of May 2000.

At present, according to Article 1.3 of the Constitutional Amendments, the National Assembly should assembly 10 days after the election result is confirmed. The meeting should close within one month, without abiding by Article 29 and 30 of the Constitution.
